Elizabeth “Betsy” Hoke, a beloved spouse and mom, entrepreneur, gifted artist and designer, handed away peacefully on Might 1, 2024 after a short sickness. Betsy’s life was a testomony to creativity, entrepreneurship, and a deep love for her household, buddies, and the locations she referred to as residence.
Born on Dec. 6, 1942, in Milwaukee, Betsy attended Richards College in Whitefish Bay – the place she would meet her future husband, Charlie Hoke, in first grade, and later attended St. Monica’s and Dominican Excessive College. In 1958 on the age of 16, she and Charlie had been “reintroduced” and commenced what could be a 66-year lengthy relationship. She attended Barat School, in Lake Forest, Illinois, and graduated in 1964 with a level in economics. She returned to Milwaukee and in 1965, Betsy and Charlie married, and collectively they constructed a good looking life full of love and household adventures.
Betsy’s drive and fervour for artwork and design led her to pursue an extra diploma in inside design. She turned knowledgeable member of ASID and held licenses in a number of states. Finally her entrepreneurial spirit led her to buy her personal firm, Sturgeon Interiors, which she efficiently operated for 35 years. Betsy is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Hoke; her kids Cathy (Bob Ashbaugh) Hoke, Lauren (Adam Bertlinger) Hoke, Chad (Elina Peduzzi) Hoke, and Steve (Michelle) Hoke; her grandchildren Gretchen Lotter, Heidi Lotter, Erich Lotter, Charlie Hoke, Maisie Hoke, Eli Tiller-Braun, Abby Hoke, and Lily Hoke; her brother Invoice Gehl (Carol), niece Annelise Gehl and nephew Will (Morgan) Gehl, in addition to quite a few different family and buddies who will carry her reminiscence of their hearts endlessly.
Betsy’s household is eternally grateful for the care and help offered by the workers of Froedtert Hospital, St. John’s on the Lake and Legacy Hospice, and the caregivers of Proper at House.
A visitation will probably be held at Feerick Funeral House (2025 E. Capitol Dr. Shorewood, WI 53211) on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10 am, with a celebration of life at 11:30 am, and a luncheon reception to observe.
